Named affectionately after the spruce-fir forests of the Appalachian mountains; Southern Balsam's initiative is to share unique, personal, and innovative art for those who peer at the world with childlike wonder. It was imagined shortly after September of 2021, when designer Nicholas Janak proposed to his wife atop Hawksbill Mountain at sunrise. While that moment was a sublime capstone to months of crafting an engagement ring as beautiful, exceptional, and authentic as she; it simultaneously ignited a fervor for designing tangible art rooted in all that we cherish most.
